Don’t sabotage your car accident injury claim

On Behalf of | Apr 29, 2016 | Car Accidents |

Your actions after a car accident can make or break your case. It is crucial that you take the time to think about what you do after the accident. There are several things that sabotage your claims for compensation, so you should make sure that you avoid these actions at all time.

One thing that can easily sabotage your claims for compensation is what you say, do and post on social media. This might not seem like something that can make much of a difference, but if what you say you are doing goes against the claims of your case, it can make a big difference. An example would be if you claim your injuries affect your ability to enjoy your life, but the pictures you post on social media show you going on rides at an amusement park. Those pictures could call your claims into question.

Another thing that you shouldn’t ever do is lie about the accident or your injuries. It is crucial that any claims you make can be backed up by actual evidence. Lying about your injuries or making inaccurate statements about the accident can have disastrous effects. Honesty is very important if you are seeking a settlement or going through a trial.

Finally, wasting time can easily sabotage your case. All personal injury cases have time limits for claiming compensation. If you don’t file your claims within that limit, you lose out on your chance to seek compensation at all. In order to avoid this, you should take action right away if you plan on seeking compensation for your injuries.
